ITTOG LAUNCH WITH PARTNERS “No women left behind”PROJECT BUILDING CAPACITY FOR VULNERABLE WOMEN THROUGH RESPONSIBLE TOURISM IN THE GAMBIA
January-December 2021
The general goal of this project is to promote vocational training for women in a situation of social exclusion and their empowerment in civil rights, for their socio-professional insertion as agents of transformation towards a model of responsible and sustainable tourism in Africa, within the framework of the social economy.
More specifically, the project will create, organize and establish in The Gambia a training course in the frame of the Institute of Travel and Tourism of Gambia (TTOG), with the support of the Gender Platform for 30 vulnerable women. The participants will be trained as independent professionals in the sustainable and responsible tourism (SRT) sector.
The project will also empower women on human and gender rights, with a specific new program, and will support their social and labour inclusion with a mentoring program to increase their employability.
Aethnic of Catalonia and ITTOG of The Gambia, with the collaboration of Gender platform of The Gambia and the financial support of the Catalan Agency of Development and Cooperation (ACCD) of the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya), manage the project.
